Cranmore Infant School B90

Special Educational Needs

SEN  Information

As a school  we strive to give all children the best education we can and look at obtaining early interventions where possible.  We support children with special educational needs in a variety of ways including regular small intervention groups and 1-1 specific support.  We work closely with external agencies where required and identified.

At Cranmore we value our partnership with parents and like to work closely together.  We have half termly reviews for SEN Supported children and Statemented/EHCP pupils which take place with the SENCO and the child’s class teacher.  Taking into account and valuing family viewpoints in order to create a child support plan with next steps.

Those at “Initial monitoring” meet with the class teacher to discuss targets.

All parents are encouraged to attend termly informal coffee mornings hosted at the  School to air their views and create working relationships with other parents too.

Inclusive Curriculum Intent Statement

At Cranmore Infant School, our curriculum is intentionally inclusive, ambitious and designed so every pupil—regardless of starting point, need or background—can access, participate in and succeed in meaningful learning. Our curriculum is coherently sequenced from EYFS to Year 2, enabling all pupils to build knowledge cumulatively. Adaptive teaching ensures access through high‑quality scaffolding, modelling and pre‑teaching while maintaining high expectations for all. We prioritise early language, reading and vocabulary as gateways to equity. We work closely with families and external professionals to remove barriers early. Through inclusive practice, strong pastoral systems and a nurturing ethos, every child is valued, known well and enabled to achieve their potential.
