Cranmore Infant School B90

Attendance

THE BENEFITS TO GOOD ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL:

Good attendance at school is essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances.  At Cranmore Infant School, we expect children to attend school every day unless they are unwell.
We value and encourage and high attendance and punctuality.  Each week we will report on the attendance for the whole school but also each individual class. Our weekly attendance target is to achieve at least 97%.

Punctuality:

Is it important that children arrive to school on time every day so that they are not missing the start of the day. Our classroom doors are open from 8.45 - 8.55. From 8.55, children will need to be signed in at the school office and they will be marked in the school register as 'late'.

Each week during our Celebration Assembly we award a certificate to the class with the best attendance for the week.  At the end of each half term we have an 'ALWAYS THERE' bear which the highest achieving attendance get to look after.

Who has won the 'ALWAYS THERE BEAR' this year so far?

ATTENDANCE Management in school

Our office secretary is responsible for recording attendance and absences for all children. Absences should be reported via the school absence line before 9am on the day of absence. This will be followed up with recording missing marks and phone calls will be made to parents/carers.

The attendance process is managed in school by the Head Teacher Mrs Ward and our office secretary and has monthly attendance meetings. Letters to parents relating to matters of attendance are issued accordingly. Whole school termly attendance data is shared with the Governing Board.

Cranmore Infant School accesses the services of CSAWS Educational Welfare Services for advice and provide additional support and services when required.
