About Us
Little Acorns is a childcare facility situated in the grounds of Cranmore Infant School.
We provide full-time professional childcare for children and babies aged from 8 weeks to 4 years in a safe, vibrant and stimulating environment in either our baby room or pre-school setting.
We are open weekdays from 7.30am until 6pm 50 weeks of the year, closing for 2 weeks over the Christmas period, and offer a variety of sessions to suit your needs. We also offer places for children who receive 2, 3 and 4 year old funding. Please see the forms below.

Baby Room (0-2 years)
Children under the age of 2 are cared for separately in our baby room. We have space for 9 children in this room which is run by qualified, experienced early years practitioners.
We provide a comfortable and stimulating environment in which we focus on the 3 prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum:
- Personal, Social and Emotional development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
Your child will be assigned a Key Person who will be your main point of contact and will also be responsible for promoting the next steps in your child’s development.

Pre-School (2-4 years)
The children move to pre-school around their second birthday. We continue to focus on the 3 prime areas but also further incorporate Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design throughout a range of activities.
Your child will be assigned a Key Person in both rooms who will be your main point of contact and will also be responsible for promoting the next steps in your child’s development.
We provide all meals and snacks throughout the day, however parents are required to provide nappies and wipes. We will work closely with you when your child is ready to potty train.
Upon registration we will contact you to arrange settling-in visits, provide you with an All About Me pack to let us know more about your child and a leaflet explaining what else you need to send with your child.

30 Hours Nursery Wrap-Around Provision
We offer afternoon provision for those children who attend school nursery in the morning and are entitled to 30 hours of free early years funding. To check if you are eligible please visit www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-childcare

Kids Club/ Holiday Club
We also provide before and after school care in our Kids’ club for children who attend Cranmore Infant and Nursery school. A light breakfast and a light tea are served at Kids Club, tea is served for children who are booked in after 4.30pm.
Children from pre-school, nursery and reception are looked after in the pre-school building, whilst children from Year 1 and Year 2 are looked after in the school hall.
The majority of our staff work all year round so children are familiar with the adults who care for them; this ensures our policies and procedures are effectively maintained throughout the year.
We run Holiday Club for children from Little Acorns Pre-School and Cranmore Infant School during INSET days and all holidays except for Christmas when the provision is closed. Children are offered a light breakfast and tea and are asked to bring a packed lunch as the school canteen is closed outside of term time.
We actively encourage the children to participate in the planning for these clubs to ensure we are meeting their needs and responding to their interests.

Bookings
For all bookings we require a completed booking form, contact form and signed copy of the contract. We will also need the completed Parental Declaration Form for all funded places. Please email these to littleacorns@cranmore.solihull.sch.uk or drop into the school office.
Fees
Please see attached booking forms for sessions and prices. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required for new Pre-school, baby room and funded bookings and parents will receive a monthly invoice which is due one month in advance.
